How to use the study abroad cost calculator
Select a medical programme to load its published cost records, or enter your own figures manually. Keep every figure in the same currency. The calculator adds tuition, mandatory university fees, accommodation, food and living, visa and document costs, health insurance, travel and other expenses, then subtracts the scholarship amount you enter.
Published university fees often describe only one academic year and may exclude deposits, clinical charges or annual increases. Monthly entries are annualised by multiplying them by 12, and semester entries by two. Review the source note beside every loaded figure before treating the result as a full-year or full-programme budget.
Costs medical students should include
- Tuition and compulsory fees: confirm whether fees are annual, semester-based or charged once at admission.
- Accommodation and living costs: include rent or hostel, meals, local transport, phone, utilities and study materials.
- Clinical and insurance costs: medical and nursing programmes may require health screening, vaccinations, uniforms, equipment or additional insurance.
- Application and immigration costs: budget for application fees, document attestation, translations, entrance tests, visa charges and proof-of-funds requirements.
- Travel and contingency: include flights, arrival expenses, deposits and a buffer for exchange-rate or fee changes.
Why currencies stay separate
The tool does not invent a live exchange rate. Exchange rates change, and a university may publish domestic and international fee schedules in different currencies as alternatives. Choose the currency relevant to your offer and convert the final total using the rate available when you plan to pay.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the complete cost of studying medicine abroad?
It is a planning estimate based on the figures you enter and the published records available. Your offer letter, university fee schedule and immigration authority remain the final sources.
How should I enter a scholarship?
Enter only the amount that applies to the same period and currency as the expenses. Do not subtract a multi-year award from a one-year cost estimate.
Does the calculator save my financial information?
No. Calculations run in the browser and the form does not require an account.
Before you apply
Confirm programme recognition.A university listing does not automatically guarantee professional registration in your home country.
Keep currencies separate.Domestic and international fee schedules can be alternatives, not amounts to add together.
Check the live notice.Deadlines, nationality rules and eligibility can change after the recorded verification date.
